Area 5 Coordinator
Maleika R. Walker is a Midwest native raised in Lansing, Michigan, and currently resides in Orange County, California. She is a seasoned organizational development strategist, educator, and nonprofit leader with more than 30 years of experience advancing education, governance, youth development, and community empowerment.
She is the Founder and CEO of Metanoya Foundation, a mission-driven nonprofit focused on education, technology, cultural arts, and physical and mental health initiatives serving youth, women, and seniors. She is also the Chief Impact & Learning Officer of The Metanoya Brand, through which she provides organizational development, training, and strategic support to nonprofits and mission-driven organizations, entrepreneurs, and start-up businesses seeking operational readiness, leadership capacity, and sustainable growth.
Maleika currently serves as President of the Orange County National Pan-Hellenic Council (2023–2027) and as Corresponding Secretary for the Orange County (CA) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A member of Delta Sigma Theta since 1994 (Alpha Chapter, Howard University), she is a Diamond Life Member with extensive chapter and regional leadership experience. She is nationally certified as a Risk Management Trainer, Membership Intake Trainer, and Delta Internal Development Certified Trainer, and is a trained Advisor for the Farwest Region, supporting governance, leadership development, and operational excellence at the local and regional levels.
She earned degrees from Howard University and Pepperdine University and has completed advanced doctoral coursework at Fielding Graduate University, where she intends to resume and complete her Ph.D. in Organizational Development.
Grounded in purpose-driven leadership and holistic wellness, Soror Walker is the founder of OC Sole Sistahs, a community walking group aligned with GirlTREK since 2018, promoting physical health, sisterhood, and collective healing. She is also the host of Mon Journée, a reflective platform and podcast rooted in faith, purpose, and personal transformation. Soror Walker is known for her servant leadership, governance expertise, and deep commitment to community impact and collective excellence.
Area 5 includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
The Area 5 Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and operational support to NPHC councils across the Western and Pacific regions. They help councils remain active, compliant, and aligned with national initiatives while offering training, communication support, and resources that strengthen local programs and community service efforts.
Serving as the direct link between national leadership and councils in this region, the Area 5 Coordinator promotes collaboration, enhances council effectiveness, and advances NPHC’s mission of unity, service, and impactful community engagement throughout the Western United States.
