Michael L. Kinloch

36th National President

Michael L. Kinloch is a seasoned civic and organizational leader with a proven track record of coordinating large-scale initiatives that strengthen communities and foster professional development. He is currently the 36th President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated. He served as the Northern Province Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (2021-2025), and as Vice Chairman of the National Council of Province Polemarchs (2023-2025).During his tenure, he has led province-wide programs including the Northern Province Day of Service, the Room to Read initiative, and the State Legislative Day in partnership with the Divine Nine, NAACP, and Jack and Jill Inc.

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from South Carolina State University, a master’s in manufacturing engineering from Eastern Michigan University, and an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy. He dedicated 42 years to General Motors, culminating as a Engineering Group Manager, where he led global product development teams, coordinated complex engineering programs, and consistently delivered projects on time and within quality standards. His professional experience demonstrates a unique ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multi-stakeholder initiatives, and achieve measurable outcomes on a national and international scale.

Within Kappa Alpha Psi, Michael has held leadership roles at the chapter, provincial, and national levels. He served as the first president of the Northern Province Diamond Achievement Foundation and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Northern Province Robert L. Gordon Achievement Award, Brother of the Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from his local chapter. These honors reflect not only his dedication to the fraternity, but also his broader impact in cultivating leadership, service, and achievement across communities.

Michael resides in Canton, Michigan, with his wife, M. Elaine Kinloch. Together, they are proud parents of two sons, Ramon and Tyler, and grandparents to Tyson and Jace. The family actively participates in Triumph Church in Northville, Michigan. Michael attributes his success to disciplined leadership, a commitment to service, and faith in God’s guidance.
