Rev. Dr. Katherine Washington-Williams

National Chaplain

Rev. Dr. Katherine Washington-Williams is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, whose life and leadership reflect an unwavering commitment to faith, service, scholarship, and community advocacy. A proud veteran, pastor, scholar, and trailblazer, she has devoted decades to serving God, country, and community with integrity, resilience, and purpose.

Dr. Washington-Williams is a retired United States Army veteran with more than 20 years of honorable service.

Within veterans’ advocacy, Dr. Washington-Williams made history as the first African American woman to command as Region Commander within the states of North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., and as the first African American woman Chapter Commander in the state of North Carolina. Both historic leadership roles were held within the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc., (NABVETS), where she advanced advocacy, accountability, and equitable representation for Black veterans and their families.

She is the Founder and CEO of Konnections with Dr. K., PhD, LLC, where she provides independent veterans’ claims assistance, psychological support, and advocacy services centered on healing, empowerment, and access to earned benefits.

In ministry, Dr. Washington-Williams serves as Pastor of Chestnut A.M.E. Zion Church in Sanford, North Carolina.

Currently serves as Past Basileus of Delta Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She has also served as Past Secretary and Treasurer of the Greater Fayetteville Area National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). I

Her life scripture, Luke 8:48 (KJV), continues to guide her walk: “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.”
