A Legacy of Leadership and Impact

Welcome to the National Pan-Hellenic Council

who we are

The Heart of Black Greek Life

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the governing and unifying body for the nine historically Black fraternities and sororities known as the Divine Nine. Founded in 1930, NPHC promotes leadership, community service, cultural preservation, and academic excellence across campuses and communities worldwide.

Community Service

Creating and supporting programs that enrich local communities, address social challenges, and strengthen family and neighborhood wellbeing.

Providing scholarships, mentoring, and academic programs designed to support student success and increase college access.

Promoting voter education, public policy awareness, and community action to ensure social justice and equal opportunity.

Uplifting African American heritage, traditions, and leadership while promoting unity among historically Black Greek-letter organizations.

Building strong leaders through workshops, conferences, and mentorship programs that support personal and professional growth.

Stronger Together
“For 95 years, we have stood together in service and strength.”

Service is at the heart of NPHC. Our collegiate and alumni chapters organize year-round volunteer efforts, from neighborhood cleanups to youth programs, uplifting communities through hands-on action.

Health & Wellness Initiatives

We support health equity through awareness campaigns, screenings, fitness programs, and partnerships that promote mental health, nutrition, and disease prevention in underserved communities

Social Justice & Advocacy

NPHC organizations stand united in promoting equality, civic engagement, and voter education. We advocate for fair policies and empower communities to use their voices for meaningful change.
