Collegiate Chair
Allan Younger, works for a private foundation dedicated to advancing entrepreneurial ambition and economic empowerment. He leads the Foundation’s programmatic priorities and strategic partnerships, championing entrepreneurs and leveraging the power of community to drive equitable economic development. In this role, he oversees all programs providing education, training, and mentoring for individuals seeking to start and grow businesses, and he directs the development, management, and continuous evolution of the Foundation’s entrepreneur-focused initiatives.
In 2023, Allan launched and now oversees an HBCU Programming Community of Practice—a coalition of nine of North Carolina’s eleven Historically Black Colleges and Universities committed to delivering high-quality entrepreneurship support to students, faculty, staff, and surrounding communities.
In addition to his foundation work, Allan is the owner of GRACE Consulting, where he provides business effectiveness consulting as well as leadership and professional development services to a range of organizations. He is a prolific thought leader, having authored more than 60 published articles on business development. Over the course of his career, he has helped launch more than 100 businesses and supported more than 200 companies in achieving greater success.
Allan has also served as an educator, teaching professional growth and leadership at Winston-Salem State University, entrepreneurship and new venture planning at Salem College, and entrepreneurship at Shaw University. He previously served on the MBA Committee at Winston-Salem State University, chaired the Black Alumni Reunion at the University of North Carolina, and has served as President of the NPHC of the Greater Raleigh Area. He remains actively engaged in civic leadership, serving on NAACP executive committees at both the state and branch levels. Since 2011, he has received White House clearance to serve on the Regional Appeals Board of the Selective Service System.
Allan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Winston-Salem State University. He is a life member of the Carolina Alumni of the University of North Carolina, the NAACP, and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. He is also a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the nation’s oldest intercollegiate historically African American fraternity, and currently serves as chairman of a general committee.
At the Alpha general organization level, Allan serves as Chairman of the College Life to Corporate Life Initiative and holds memberships on the Ritual and Ceremonies Committee, the Commission on College Brothers Affairs, the Membership Development Committee, and the Initial Membership Development Process Subcommittee. He served as a General Chairman for the 2024 Constitutional Convention. Regionally, he is Chairman of the Committee on Ritual and Ceremonies. At the district level, he serves as Vice Chair of the Fraternal Standards Committee and as a member of the College Life to Corporate Life Council. At the chapter level, Brother Younger chairs the Ritual and Protocol Committee, serves on the Chaplain Team, previously served on the Brand Management Committee, and currently serves as President of the NPHC of the Greater Raleigh Area.
Allan was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 1987 at the Mu Zeta Chapter at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
