Alumni Chair
Rhonda E. Ruben is a distinguished healthcare professional, educator, and organizational leadership strategist. She holds a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration and Organizational Leadership, a Master of Healthcare Administration, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences. Dr. Ruben empowers leaders, students, and professionals to develop competence, confidence, and a strong commitment to service-centered leadership.
In her current role as National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Alumni Chair, Dr. Ruben supports capacity building, leadership engagement, and strategic collaboration across alumni councils. She also serves as President of the Beaumont Unit of Parliamentarians, providing governance leadership, organizational training, and parliamentary education.
Additionally, Dr. Ruben is the Director of Emergency Preparedness for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She is a Lifetime Member of both the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), and a proud member of the NAACP. Her community involvement extends to serving on the Salvation Army Advisory Board and the Beaumont City Bond Committee. Dr. Ruben has received the NBNA Nurse of the Year award and other leadership honors and previously served as Black Nurses Rock Director of Health and Wellness.
A passionate wellness advocate, Dr. Ruben is a licensed Zumba instructor, and practices Karate regularly and hosts health education webinars. She is also a sought-after speaker at conferences and webinars, promoting preventive health, and accessible community learning. She actively participates in outreach programs supporting homeless and underserved populations.
With more than 30 years of service as a basketball and volleyball official, Dr. Ruben exemplifies fairness, integrity, and leadership both on and off the court. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she continues to inspire excellence and compassion in every area she serves.
